Royal Terrace has a great position on the northern side of Calton Hill. Hotels line the street and they're all of a high standard. The Adria House is worth trying with its....comfy appeal, rather like an old lounge suite...

This delightful Georgian townhouse retains many original features including stunning skylights, high ceilings with cornices and beautiful tiled fireplaces. The generally spacious bedrooms are comfortable. Breakfast is served in the neatly appointed dining room, and its convenient location close to the city means there are numerous restaurants within walking distance.

Thank you for another lovely stay in Edinburgh, Once again you and your staff have excelled themselves at making us feel welcome and at home, it has added so much to our stay we cannot express our gratitude enough, thank you once again for a wonderful stay and we hope to see you again next year.......

We really enjoyed your guest house and we found it very clean and very comfortable and really enjoyed the breakfasts. We enjoyed your country, your hotel and you made us feel very special. I am writing to tell you how very much I enjoyed the wonderful stay at your guest house.  I am glad to say that the small changes you make every year are wonderful and that you continue to maintain the character of your house.  It is a warm, welcoming and marvelously comfortable place to rest after those busy days of sightseeing in such an interesting and ancient city.  I have to say that I really enjoyed myself and especially enjoyed getting to visit with the two of you in a variety of situations.  Thank you for all of the information you gave me and thank you especially for your warm and caring attitude.  I looked forward to seeing your faces at then beginning and end of each day.  I would also like to say how much I enjoyed the privacy of the room and the view of your garden.  It was a pleasure to see every morning when I arose.

Just a note to let you know how much we enjoyed our visit with you.  You really went that extra step in helping us, from letting my husband use your office for his job interview, to helping set up a day trip in the area.  The accommodations were perfect and the food was excellent (especially the bacon!).  I will definitely recommend you to friends and family traveling in Scotland.  By the way, my husband did get the job, which made for even more happy memories of our trip.  Thank you again for your hospitality...

It's now safe to drive in Britain again now that Kathy and I are home. Safely.  Thanks, Edward and Maria, for your help with driving directions, boxes for rocks, leads on wool carders, and most of all for having us in your home.  It was a treat for us who don't have buildings or rooms like we enjoyed there.  Edinburgh couldn't have been better.  Aloha.....

Thanks again for taking such good care of my friends a few weeks ago. Having all those folks in town at once could have been really draining on me, but you kept them happy and that helped tremendously. You probably remember that Pat Kelley had to move to another establishmant for the last night of her visit, as you all were full; she just now wrote me and said, "it was ok....... but it sure deepened my appreciation for the Adria!"

I'm emailing to thank you for a lovely recent holiday. The guest house is lovely and the breakfasts wonderful.  We really liked our room too!  (We appreciated the furniture as we too all work together on stripping paint off old pieces, to bring them back to life).
